Taking a poll on how many people have MM111 in their collection. I have one and know of only one other (Thomas' book picture). I know many key top-end bullet collectors who do not so I am wondering just how rare this bad boy is. Heck of a $5 ebay purchase (in the early days before it went to shoot).

Do not have one. I might pay $22.49 for a primo dug specimen (shipping included). Are these Eastern theater, Western theater, or Trans-MS theater bullets?

Dear el Cheapo Pierce.

Gonna have to pay more than that unless you get lucky. Mine is from West Virginia and from what I was able to find out - mainly western WV. Gun used????? Your guess is a good as mine.

I have several that I found. They are pretty nice to find.

Hey Chuck,

Would you be interested in trading for one or two? I know a couple of collectors that keep drooling over mine.

I have one I know about that is pristine. That is mine. I have several that I remember finding that we in good condition to excellent, but I can't remember if they have been traded off or not. My collection is in WV and I am in Germany. I will go through the database this weekend and determine if I have them. If I do, I will get your address and arrange a trade or what ever you want. If I don't have any, I will start running down my contacts to get some more or find them myself this summer.

I would also be interested in obtaining such a bullet myself, but I am in the same boat with PIA. I think I have a bullet or two for trade. Money is an object.

I agree with both of you. I went throught the data base. At this time, I do not have any to trade, but I emailed my contacts in WV and they have their feelers out and will be look for a few more. I will not bleed you if I find some.

Hey Chuck,

Do you know where these are found in WV? I know mine came from WV but the seller could not give me more information.

I do know exactly where they are found. I have dug quite a few, but it was not my site so I am not a liberty to say exactly were, but they are sound near an old Union Ammo Dump in Central WV in a town that switched hands 60+ times called Gauley Bridge. Or atleast that is where I have found them. A buddy of mine and I have found 1000s of bullets at the dump, but I found the mm111 not too far away - a couple of hollows away.

Chuck,

Thanks - that's where I thought as well base on a couple of old timers conversations. That's my neck of the woods. Maybe I should dust off the old detector and head out.

Are you really from that area?

Chuck,

I am from the Ashland KY area which is right across the border from Huntington WV. I am back in this area now after being in Minnesota for 5 years. Gauley is not too far away.

Look,

I would find it just fine to have one of them in my collection. I was just joking about paying $22.49 for a specimen with shipping included. It cuts me to the quick but I'll pay the price PLUS shipping!

OK?

We know you all too well Gary. I'm sure if the right bullet comes along, you would consider a 4th mortgage. I honestly don't know what an MM111 would bring. I got lucky and got mine for $5.

OK OK,

I'll go $12.47. Darn Bill, you lived up North too long...you're becoming one of them capitolists! Uh, is it a deal then? Shipping included?

Your MOST wonderful best friend. I mean that. Have your answering machine call mine.

I like $999. Now where does that decimel point go? Shoulda paid more attention in school. Heck Gary - I hear that all the lead and iron in your house is causing a magnetic anamoly in the atmosphere that NASA can't overcome.

You strike a hard deal Pard, but I've always been easy to work with. Have it your way, then.

It's $9.99 and I'll pay the shipping. Would pay more but the government is charging me for something alluding to 'mineral rights' on my property. Go figure! Can we make this work?

Your poor but well meaning FRIEND,

Then surely you know about Zolls Hollow - well maybe not. It was a large Union Ammo dump in Gauley Bridge - Like I said we made a killing there - over 300 .69s and near a 1000 58's and so on. It was a wonderful find. There are probably still 1000s in there.

When I get back to WV, I will try to get the crew together and take you down to Gauley and hit the old Ammo dump - bring a good shovel and good boots.
