Hi,
I found these pig iron bars in my mother's friend's backyard in Cahaba, Alabama (near Birmingham). Her property backs up to the old iron works that was burned by Wilson's Raiders in 1864. The W.S. McE stands for the owner Wallace Scott McElwain. These bars would have been loaded onto wagons bound for Selma Arsenal. Remains of the old iron works and the trail to Selma can be seen to this day. If you can get some of the U-Rail without getting into trouble you should get it. I know around here it is hard to find. The only place we can get it around here is to dive the river for it. Bear
