Hello I'm new to this site so please bear with me. Recently I have found with my metal detector a button of intrest and I'm hoping to receive help in its identification. It is brass two piece cap and bottom a queens crown in its center. In a circle around the crown the words Deas Ou Oath appear. In an outer circle the words Hiohland 16 scottish appear found it at one of the oldest town sites here where I live. Can you help? Love to hear from you and thanks in advance!
I just recently came across a large iron ball 4.8" in dia. and 15#. Which I believe it to be an artillery shell from the Civil War period. It has a 1" hole in one end. It is approx.2" deep. My concern is that it could be dangerous yet, if it is full of old black powder. Please offer me some direction on this. It is a beautiful collectors piece. I found this item at a flea market south of Wichita,Ks. I live in Haysville,Ks.

I live in North San Diego County, near Felicita County Park. About a month ago my spousal equivalent unearthed a canon ball in my back yard which weighs approx. 18 to 20 pounds! It is 5 inches in diameter. Can anyone help me identify it? I have pics.
