Default Great locomotive chase painting

Hope I posted this right, and in the correct place on the board, it's been a while. Since I retired I went back to oil painting for the first time in almost 19 years.
I just had to paint a pic of one of my favorite CW battles. The great locomotive chase. Just thought I'd share it with you.
It's 48 X 30 Oil on stretched canvas.

Very nice Mtnman, Me and my family had the pleasure to go visit the General in the muesum in Kennesaw last year. It was very nice place and highly recommended.

Hi Jonathon
Thank you for the Compliment. Wife and I are talking about going for the re-enactment in GA if they have it next year.
It's an incredible story. I first heard of it when I saw the Disney movie about it when I was a child. It has fascinated me ever since.

There are still a lot of places to see that has to do with the Great Locomotive Chase. A few miles from me in Adairsville,Ga they have a festival each year in honor of it. Some of the old depots are also still there and can be viewed. Not to sure about the reenactment of it,really never heard of one. Not sure what gind of locomotive they would use since the real one is in the muesum and there is no way out that I have seen. I know they use to run it up and down the track every once in a while before they retired it to the museum,Jonathon.

Hi Jonathon
Thats what I read about, the 40 something anniversary festival not a re-enactment. In fact it was in Adairsville. Thanks for the info. I am about a good 7 hours from there being in Middle Tennessee. I definately have to make the trip, Wife and I are headed to Gettysburg in a month so it will have to be later on in the year if we do.
