Default Name the Leader #3 Jan 17, 2003

Who am I? This one is little tougher. I will start this one with a hint. I was involved in Antietam and South Mountain. More hints tomorrow if no one pulls this one out ... well you know what I mean.

Default Hint #2

No one has gotten this one, so here is a hint. "I drove the confederates out of Western Vriginia".

Default Hint #2

Nice guess. The leader who lead a Rich Mountain would be a good guess, but no.

I will give you 2 hints this time due to the difficulty.
1) I am a native of Ohio and taught at Oberlin College.
2) I commanded the "brigade of the Kanawha" in western VA.

That should be enough to solve the riddle.

Bonus, which battle sealed WV's Statehood?

We will get away from WV with the next trivia and name the leader contest.

Default You are 1/2 correct.
