Hi, can anyone assist with identifying this buckle. It is about 72mm by 50mm. The catch is 20mm across.
I believe it to be a turn of the century Marine Corps buckle but not sure.

Can anyone assist with this item. It is an 1839 Pattern Company Officer Plate. The letters and wreath are die struck and not soldered on. I believe it to be an Ames knock off, maybe even Bannerman's but don't believe it to be a reproduction. The rear is lacquered as the Ames plate.

I picked this up from a local antique store and wondering anyone could comment on it. It is a metal South Carolina hat badge. Only thing I can make out is a 1776 towards the bottom on the front. There is some writing in the ovals but I am unable to make it out.
