5 Nov finds

Got out 2 hours before church is morning. It was 32 degrees, and I'm not sure I could have lasted much longer....

Nice drops, percussion caps, eagle button with waterbury button co bm, and the base of what I believe is a CS parrott shell.

More photos of that in the Arty section.

Happy digs. Off to church!

Shack, those are some great finds!!! That bottom half Artillery shell is really cool. How deep did you have to dig to find it?
I found that them percussion caps are very difficult to find. Talk about a very faint hit, you have to be on your toes to hear them tiny caps. Great job! :up

Steve, you know it! Those caps are TOUGH!!! I usually give up on them, but every once in a while you get a few in the same zone real close to the top. I love digging them though, it tells me soldiers were right in that spot. I usually SLOW DOWN after getting those...

Check out George's post on the shell base in the Arty forum. Smart man that PCGeorge.... I think he may want to take a look at it. More to follow.

Yes Shack, I checked out what PCGeorge had to say. You just can not replace "experience" for NOTHING! Knowledge is worth it's weight in gold!
