Broke Tokens in Halifax 1816

Hello my name is Rob campbell.
I live in Canada and I'm a writer with a real passion for historical antiques and collectibles. Now I know this isn't US Civil War related and as such you fellows may not know or care... but I have a query. My friend Tim Bits found an 1814 Broke Token in the muddy backyard of an old church here in Ontario Canada.

I wrote all about the history of the coin on my blog at Dumpdiggers in the post titled Broke Tokens in Upper Canada and I was very satisfied with the story until I got an email from a chap in the UK telling me that these tokens are worth more than $25.00 and if I had any could I please sell them to him for that price.

My mates think i was generous in my estimate of $25 per coin - they are only made of copper.

So I did some more investigating but came up empty - I cannot find a price reference.

Can anyone here help me?

Hi Arob. Welcome to the Civil War Bullet forums. :)

I sent you an email with some info that may be helpful. If that email fails to show up, let me know.

Regards,
Pete [P.C. George]
