This past weekend I attended a living history event at Grenada, MS, hosted by Cleburne's Brigade. While rations were being issued some of us began discussing whether CS troops were issued any type of bread in boxes in the manner that the US issued hardtack in boxes. While some Union hardtack boxes survived the war and have been reproduced, we had never seen, read about or heard of any Confederate equivilant. Any of y'all?
