Grape or Canister

Hi All,
I often follow your forums, but this is my first post. I hope the photo is o.k. I'm wondering if any of you more experienced members want to school an newbie on canister and grape shot. I dug both of these balls near a CW battle site in Missouri (private property with permission). I believe the smaller ball is a canister ball. The larger ball I believe is grape shot. I may have those reversed. Thats where you all come in. Is the larger ball grape shot or a single fired ball from some small cannon? Both are completely round so I don't believe they are gravel crushers or anything like that. The same area gave me dozens of 3 ringers and a nice Bormann fuse. Any help is appriciated.
Fred

I'm not an expert, by any means. But, since you haven't gotten a reply. . .
Canister balls from the usual CW field artillery usually measures about 1.5 inches in diameter. So, maybe the larger one is a canister ball.

Thanks for the reply Jack. I was begining to wonder if I didn't post the photo right. The smaller ball is actually about 1.5" and the larger is about 2". I guess that makes the smaller one a canister ball. I was reading about 2" balls in grape shot today. Maybe that's what the larger one is. Again, thanks alot for the reply!
