I think my heart skipped a beat when my hunting buddy John walked up to me an put the Martengale in my hand! It felt heavy so I knew it had lead in the back. You can see where the hooks were. After the shock subsided I got back to hunting with renewed vigor, and visions of another Martengale or more US plates! I was lucky enough to dig a saddle shield a few bullets and a very nice 1912 Barber Dime that appears to have been lost Early in the circulation as it is hardly worn. Enjoy the pics, I cannot wait to get back to that spot. Have a great Thanksgivng everyone. Tim

Those are some exciting finds Tim!!! Now is the Martingale leadfilled or is it stamped brass? Also, is that part of a ''bleeder'' I see bottom left corner in the last picture? Man, that barber looks like it just came out of the Mint. SUPER FIND!!! :up

The Martingale has a lead back but is just plain on the brass front. Could it be CS? This area was controlled by the CS almost a year. The bleeder looking thing appears to be a copper tube that is split open on one end. I am going back in the morning and I just can't sleep! I will post my finds tomorrow. Have a great thanksgiving Steve. Tim
