***My First US Belt Buckle***

My two detecting buddies joined me today to one of our recent CW hunting areas we've been detecting since last fall here in the Western part of Virginia where we live. I dug 7 bullets today, but today I dug my first two (2) firsts. my first shield nickel. 1867 and my first ever US belt buckle at about 5 inches down, It cleaned up really nice, with puppy paws all intact with a bit of leather still attached in the back. Except for a minor small crack on the front, it is a beautiful plate. The funny thing about when i dug the belt buckle, I first saw that there was a piece of wire when I first got the signal, rescanned the hole, and then dug about 5 inches down, and was looking at the back side of the buckle. I think it took me a few seconds to realize just what I had.

HH and remember to rescan all holes...

Thanks Roy-

These plates/buckles are out there, but you must be methodical in your sweeps and dig every signal...AND....a must, especially when removing trash from the hole, rescan to make sure there is nothing else in there. Had I not done that, the buckle would still be in the hole for another happy the'r to dug up ! I posted a youtube video, shortlhy after digging the buckle which you can view from my metal detecting page in my signature.

Best-

Wayne
