Welcome to the CWBullet Forums, Jason.
There's a lot of good info to had here. All the old posts are archived, so if you are interested in learning more about the relics you dig up (and the ones you don't - but see for sale somewhere) be sure to check out this site's Search function.
For example, though I've been a relic-digger continuously since 1974, I hadn't kept up with developments in the bullet-collecting field since about 1997. As a result of joining this forum back on March 1st, I now know that a significant number of bullets shown in the Mason-&-McKee bullet book were misidentified - so the names we diggers and dealers learned to call those bullets back in the 1970s-1990s are "out of date." ;-)
By the way, that's due in no small part to the excellent paper-document & field-research by three of CWBullet's participants: the brothers Jim Thomas and Dean Thomas (who have written several bullet-books), and Tom Stelma (whose work is available for purchase on CD).
Plus, there are some very knowledgeable "advanced collectors" who post here. (And not just only on bullets.)
Oh... and, please be very careful about buying relics on E-Bay. There is, frankly, a lot of "mis-identification" there. So if you have any uncertainty about an item you're interested in, ask the folks here for their opinions first.
Again, welcome to the CWBullet Forums. I encourage you to participate actively in the discussions. We're always happy to hear from someone with reasonably good manners. ;-)
Regards,
Pete [PCGeorge]
