Newby cannonball request

Good morning gang; this is my first post and my first request at needing any info. I got here just through the luck of Google.

Like others, I just got this new cannonball and had some questions. Like, is it real? I have read some of the other posts and it seems to be on the heavy side but will go on and ask. This is an approximate 5" ball that was found in a field near Fort Tuthill in Arizona. The area was home to several bands of local infantry from 1865 and later. The guy who found it said that he found it in his pasture a while back. The pasture had been used for cattle. The weight is about 16 1/2pounds. I am trying to attach some pictures. Any thoughts? Tks.

Good evening gents. THis is my 1st post. To add to the this topic I'll have to agree with the above.I've dug alot of 12lb and 6lb. This is a decorative fence post ball. They look good but its not a cannonball. Sorry, I know its dissapointing but it is what it is. JR
