I found out more information on the 69 cal. musket. it is a springfeild with manard primer at least that is what the paper said that my mother found on the gun. It was also carried by Henrey Terwilliger in gettysburg and there are other battles listed. henery was from shingle house pa.
she also found a cartridge case with the history of it , it was carried by Private Henery Richmond age 12 he enlisted in 1862 with is father Major henery Richmond. he served under Generals , Hooker, Hancock, Mead and Porter. He was never wounded and was discharged on Sept. 28, 1865 he was never wounded. she also has his military record.
okay allthe info above is corect the caps are fed automaticly when the hammer is cocked , every thing works the barrel is rifled 4land 4 groves.
i have close up photos of every thing if you are interested. I also have several 8mm rifles, and lugers and Webly Scotts for sale.
