Please help me identify this button before my buddy the finder and technophobe who will not touch a computer drives me crazy. " Is it on line yet......... over and over"
We are newbies who got lucky access to the area of an 1865 cavalry skirmish. A bit below the crest of a hill we found a spencer round, a sharps bullet, a spencer bullet, 3 minie ball type bullets(two pulled), and a badly deformed about .69 caliber bullet. Lower down the slope my friend found the button and a rivet or snap. Please tell me they are great discoveries so he will quit bugging me!;) Oh on the back of the button is "A. Matthews" we think.
