Hey gents,

I spent my sat am hunting along a CW road bed I managed to find 1 .58 cal minie ball and also a lot of new poison ivy which ive been scratchin since last sat! Ill pay more attn this weekend to my surroundings for sure. Also took my 4 yr old w/ his toy MD to some abandoned housing - he found his first wheatie ! I managed to pull a 34 merc and a .925 crux w/ a gold chain. lastly - i pulled a nice silvered flat button w/ornamental design around the edge. Only 2 weeks till we move to Pensacola- Ill sure miss the history up here.

Hey Bama Dave,

Good luck with the move. You guys stop by if you swing through Atlanta. I've not had much time to hunt with the house projects. You would be amazed at the changes.

Poison ivy - all I can say is long sleeved shirts and gloves !

Congrats to the little one, he'll become a digger for sure.

Take care,

Rodney

Good fortune with the move, hope that you will find lots of happy hunting grounds down there.
Rodney & all:
The best way to avoid Poison Ivy, Oak and Sumac is to rub dirt all over your hands and forearms before you start digging.
A layer of dirt will keep most all the poison sap from reaching your skin.
You might get a little but a breakout can usually be avoided if you use some medication after you wash up at home.
The worst case of Poison Ivy that I ever had I got in the winter time while the foliage was gone! The root are still there and dormant in the winter but there poison is more concentrated.
You don’t have any idea that you are digging in it!
