Stonewall Jackson had Asperger Syndrome?

Hi all, first post here! :)

I've only been studying the ACW in depth for a few months now but I remember an old friend once mentioning that Stonewall Jackson was "crazy", which sounded pretty cool, so I looked him up. I found an article online (before I actually read a bio) about him having Asperger Syndrome, but that was all I could find about it....

Aspergers is a mild form of autism characterized by general social awkwardness, odd speech (this part can't be verified in Jackson's case lol), strictly regimented daily rituals, a lack of empathy and ability to gauge the emotions of others. Also, Aspergers sufferers usually have an incredible appetite and aptitude for learning and often become obsessed with learning very specific topics quickly. They can also be (or appear to be) unflinching in the face of danger and have a high pain threshold. If you have read about him on a personal level, I think you will agree that it's feasible that he had it.

I don't wanna make this post too long so I won't ramble on about Jackson unless somebody responds... But according to what I read in Alf Mapp's "Frock Coats and Epaulets" he fits the criteria PERFECTLY. I dunno, just wanted to see what anyone else thinks about it.
Either way he was quite a character. :D

Wonder if the war would've turned out differently had he not been shot by his own pickets?
