Sword and Dagger Identification Help

Hi all!

These two items below are actually two items I bought years ago for a combined total of $20.00. I am trying to identify exactly when they are from. I didn't know if anyone is able to give me any information they may have on them and possible worth.

Thanks,

Nathan - KC

The "dagger" is a bayonet. Both are post Civil War. Thats all I know as I am a bullet and artillery guy :p

Mike,

You are correct. Actually right after I posted the topic, I noticed I didn't put in bayonet. As for the sword, I have seen militia swords similar to it that date back as far as the 1840's. I really enjoy both pieces, but I am just trying to find out a little more about each.

Thanks,

Nathan

Like Emike, I'm a projectiles guy, all I can suggest to help you is that you post both items on the "Ebay Fakes" forum at nvrha.com ...asking for identification & time-period dating of them. Some major Nondug Edged-Weapons experts hang out in that forum. It doesn't seem to matter that your edged-weapons aren't for sale on Ebay, if you make sure to post them with "ID-Request" in your subject-line.

BUT, everybody please note, the nvrha.com Ebay Fakes forum is NOT the place for getting dug mystery-relics identified. That's what the cwbullet.org Relic-Identification forum is for. :)

Regards,
Pete [PCGeorge]
