Hello folks! We're brand new here, and we're sure hoping that you kind and knowledgeable collectors can help us out.
We have what appears to be a cavalry sword, but we don't know if it's authentic or not. It has no markings or stamps whatsoever. The blade length is 34-5/8" and the width at the hilt is 1-1/4".
It looks like there could have been wire wrapped around the handle at one time, but it's been cut off and still has a tiny nub of it left. We're fairly positive that the red sash is not original to the piece.
