These bullets are cropping up from time to time on British sites and I'm wondering if they're known in the States. I record for the Portable Antiquities Scheme over here and these are popping up as detector finds more frequently. Usually there are a group found in a field and not just singles. We initially thought they are from the Jacobs rifle but the calibre seems to small. The bullets appear to be preshaped which when fired gives the appearance of having seven sides. They come in two varieties one being rounded and "pip"- like and the other has a squarer form. Has anyone any idea please which rifle these are associated with??
Many thanks
