Seems as if it was only yesterday, but the time has slipped away once again! This was/has been a great site but I feel it's time to send flowers and lay it to rest......(of course this is only my feeling since I copied this data of today's hits {In total there are 3 users online :: 1 registered, 0 hidden and 2 guests (This data is based on users active over the past 5 minutes)
Most users ever online was 18 on Fri Apr 20, 2007 9:50 pm}. What a shame about the best CW Site EVER!!!!!

GOOD LUCK, RAW

I ain't given up yet. Been busy and not got to hunt much.(because you ain't asked me yet. ) I learned more from this site than any other and will continue to use when I get a chance. Some of you others could do likewise.
Tim

Hello Friend Roger,
In lieu of flowers I request that you send MONEY...to me! 20, 50, hundred dollar bills are OK. The site is not dead by any means. We have some good new folks online with us. I bet your post (above) is just a suggested wake-up call for some of us to get our 'rear in gear' to take up a bit of slack. When I get home next weekend I'll try to do my part.

By the way, I also accept 1, 2 and Five dollar bills. No 3's or 4's though.
Your Pard,
Gary

1st time ive been here in a while...
havent swung a detector in over 1 1/2 years...

Heck,
It's been two weeks short of a year since I last swung a detector although I've had the wantagoes several times lately. My last hunt was to a place I have saved just because it's out of the path of other diggers and I know I can go there and dig a few things. Near Oxford, MS. Great cool/sunny winter day close to Christmas it was...nice land owner...dug half dozen spent Spencer cartridges...was startled by a large deer...met a deer hunter who said it was good that I was wearing my orange sock hat and orange vest. TIME TO GO HOME!

I work out of town during the week (my truck is my office) and my favorite sites are more than an hour's drive from away. It's hard to get up the enthusiasm to drive that long on one's days off. Geez, I'd really like to find at least one more untouched camp again. Large or small, it don't matter! The artifacts are still out there aplenty. Just takes research, time and LUCK to find them. Time and research I'm short on, but LUCK has been with me more than I deserved!

Best regards,
Gary

I'm still swinging when I can! Deer Season keeps me away from many old sites and working 6 days a week. I was off 2 days in a 4 week period prior to being off Sunday before Thanksgiving through the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Started to put shrink plastic over two windows on Thanksgiving Eve. I found Termites in the window seal in the process so I spent the rest of the day removing sheetrock from that entire wall and the fire place insert. Thanksgiving Day I cut Ivy back to find the corner of the outside wall joining the Chimney and removed Vinyl siding. Friday morning it was off to Lowe's for lumber and supplies, back home I unloaded the truck. Tore out one side of the chimney wall and window and the short wall above the Fire Place, replaced the full size wall without a window, the short wall, screw on OSB from the inside, turned up the heat (was showing 53 and flashing low battery inside my house) before going to bed. Saturday morning I removed the inside OSB finished the full wall, the half wall, tore off the Vinyl siding, & tore out the other full wall and window. Built the full wall, installed and covered with OSB and went to bed. Sunday morning I realized I didn't have the proper amount of the proper size insulation so it was off to Lowe's once again! Back home, insulated the wall, cleaned up mess. etc, etc and tried to put the outside wall in the dry in the attic area. Back to work Monday morning, First off just to get some rest! Monday evening a few touches here and there before dark. Worked 6 days last week and then Sunday I finished removing the Ivy from the chimney (3 full size truck loads) and finished burning off stuff. Received my Termite spray and kit today and should get the long spray hose tomorrow! Have to work Saturday and looks like I'll be under the house, in the yard and more on the house this Sunday!

AND I AIN'T EVEN STARTED GOOD!!!!!
Sorry For The Short Story But I Left Out A Lot Of Details, Roger

Hi everybody! I have visited this forum many times before for research and just recently signed up after reading the above post. This is by far one of the most indepth sites dedicated to metal detecting relics. In the last 8 months of living in Dandridge, Tn, I have done my homework on many of the battles thru our valley here, and have found alot of Civil War relics from the Battle of Dandridge, Mossy Creek, camps in New Market, Bean Station, etc. I will post some of my more interesting finds very soon. Scott
