Default New to MD. Help with MXT coils

I just purchased a MXT via e-bay and am now trying to decide on couple of extra coils. I live in Memphis but plan on doing some MD in middle Tennessee and maybe a beach or two. My targets will be old coins and a few CW relics. One of my first major targets will be an old country store which burned down probably 20 years ago but had been closed for probably 40 years before that. I am sure there will be a lot of trash.....and snakes. Also in the area I know of a few areas that were used a CW camps and a hospital. I have always been very much interested in the CW and have thought about what might be found around that old store since I was a kid. I am 52 now!

I am looking at the white super 12in coil, New 6" EXcelerator EQ2 Pro DD Searchcoil, NEW 10 x 12" EXcelerator SEF Butterfly Searchcoil, and 10 X 14” Elliptical Double D EXcelerator EQ2 Pro Seachcoil .

What headphones do most use?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Bill

I recently bought one of the MXt's to try out. It was the new MXT 300 that came with the 12 inch coil. I plan on keeping the coil for use in fields and such, but I here the 6X10 dd is very good for house and woods hunting, I plan on getting one pretty soon. They say it is real good with target seperation,Jonathon.

This is an expensive hobby to get started in!

I picked up a 6in excellerator coil off e-bay and purchased the 10x12 SEF coil from Kellyco. Went ahead and got extra lower rods and hardware, digging trowels (sp) dust/rain cover, and the Accusound pro Headphones by Detector Pro.

May look for the 6x10 coil and the super 12 on e-bay at a later date.

I hope this all I need.

One more question, what is the best place to find information on civil war activity in certain areas. (Middle/west Tennessee)

Thanks,
Bill
