Hi KMA

I am in a group of three guys that go out on a regular basis; normally Saturdays. But every so often I have to go by myself as the other two buddies are committed to other actions for the day. E-mail me at THing4CSA at yahoo dot com and we can see if we can work out a day outing some weekend. I live in Sterling, VA so am only 28 miles WNW of DC. We have several good Union encampments that have given up bullets, buttons, other relics and even a few coins. I look forward to hearing from you and hope we can arrange a TH'ing weekend.
Thanks
Dave

KMA & Digger Dave,

I'm a retired Army guy living in the Lake Ridge / Woodbridge area (26 miles south of DC), and I've been trying to find some folks to do some detecting with for over a year. Would be pleased to meet you both. I bought a White's MXT about 2 years ago as a present to myself--have been meaning to get a detector for years. After growing up in Chattanooga in the 1970's when you could still find stuff without even having a detector, I'd always wanted to get one. I spent about 10 months digging up garbage and getting frustrated, but in the last year, I've finally started finding some nice CW stuff. 2 weeks ago I had my best day; found 16 perfect .69 minie balls, 10 of them in a square foot--all beautiful drops; the rest had some light damage. One appears to be a Prussian 2-ring .69 while all the others are 3-ringers. That was a heavy pocket full of southern lead!

Anyway, I'd like to meet some like-minded folks to take some trips with. Let me know if you're interested.

regards & best,
