Default Coil suggestion needed for MXT

I hunt Civil War (CW) relics and more and more of the sites left to hunt are areas full of modern trash. I have a 6X10 DD coil and while its good on seperatation, I need a coil with a little better seperation, but that can see bullets up to about 8". Most of the CW stuff falls in the 5"-9" range on these trashy sites. Any suggestions on a coil for the MXT that will give that kind of depth as well as good seperation?

Default Re: HAve you heard about the new SEF coil

The VA guys are raving about the SEF or Butterfly coil. They are sold by Kellico for Whites/ Minelab, etc.

A freind up in VA just bought one and is really tearng up the buttons w/ it and at depth also. I like the Whites Super 12 too- Had my best button day ever w/ it. and combined w/ gain circuit on the MXT it really bangs on minies at 7 in like they are on hte surface. downside is it gets hungup in stubble/ weeds but is lighter than the DD1400. I will prob buy an SEF before i go to DIV X.

Default Re: Coil suggestion needed for MXT

Dave, just ordered a 10X12 SEF. I'll be real interested to see what kind of depth and seperation this coil gets. If its anywhere near as good as advertised I've got a couple of the perfect sites all lined up for it. I made DIV IX last spring, but won't be able to make this fall's hunt. If you do get a chance to use the SEF coil at that hunt, please let me know how you did.

Thanks,
Bill W.
