Chuck, How old are these Artifacts? Maybe 1000+/- years old? GREAT FINDS!! You still awaiting the CASHE of Coins. BTW, I've read before that people may not be able to keep their finds in Europe and other Foreign Countries. Is that the case for you as well?

Hoping You Get To Dig Soon, Roger

No problem here. I have not found any resistance what so ever. It all depends on the country - France can be rather restricive.

cwbullet,

I must say very nice finds! I just recently started metal detecting in Germany also, less than a year ago. Unfortunately, I haven't found any arrow heads at all. I believe I need to go a little further south from where I am at, but I have found a lot of coins. The oldest complete is a 1684. I have one that is before 1600 and Bavarian, but I can't put a date to it yet. I do have a question maybe you can help me with. I have found a peice of copper?..hand made jewelry. Where can I send a pic to find out how old it might be? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Dave.....I take that back, I have found one arrow head from a cross bow...between 10th and 12th century old. I found it on the same place I found the jewelry, also I have found one from a long bow. I'll send pics later. Thanks again.

I might be able to help you. Post them in the Other rlics area and sign in first and the script will do the rest.

I found this very interesting, especially the arrow heads.
I'm in Ireland fairly often.
One of my favorite haunts is the tide bed at the waterfalls,in Limerick,Ireland.
I like to stroll the tide flats at low tide there.
Limerick was founded by the Vikings and the area below the falls was their ship anchorage.
Across from the flats is King John's Norman castle;really worth a visit.
A little further down from the Norman castle is the large building of Peter Tait, who supplied Confederate uniforms(& his well know "P.Tait/Limerick"Confederate coat buttons)
This huge 19th.C. building is a storage facility for Irish Electric.
My last stroll there I found a long bronze spike(the Limerick Museum thinks it is a ships spike of Viking times)
