    Default Question about Confederate bills

Hello everyone. I am new to the group. Awesome sight! Can anyone tell me if there were ever Confederate bills that were issued where there is no Serial number or signature? I have a couple of Canal bills that are like this. The bills look good to me but I am not sure about this. Thanks Shilohboy

    Welcome Shilohboy:

A lack of signatures does not indicate a replica. You hit on it when you wrote “issued.” Notes that were never issued, or not intended to be issued, lacked signatures. For a museum-like romp through some beautiful Confederate currency (and other obsoletes, like your Louisiana currency) with and without signatures, see: http://aocurrency.com/
Ms. Sheheen has created a very informative commercial website.

    Shilohboy:

. . . and for some Canal Bank notes w/o signatures and numbers, see (there are many websites out there with these notes):

Evidently, a lot of this bank’s notes were never issued—I’ve seen MANY without numbers, or signatures.
