Smoothbore,
You have my admiration to dig fight now. It was 106 in the shade in MS. Found a nice 1882 silver dollar but the camera is busted. Gonna try getting in creeks and sifting sand. Me thinks it might be cooler.

Tim,

It has been sweltering here as well. A look at the forecast a few minutes ago was an eye-opener. It is supposed to be 103 - 105 degrees for the next 6 days! That doesn't take into consideration this Arkansas humidity. My partner and I have been out some.... but, are usually through with it after 10:00 am or so. We could probably make it longer if we were in a new hot spot! LOL

Nice finds, Smoothbore!

Kim

Get that camera fixed! I would to see that SD. Kim,digging until 10:00am in these conditions is still better than washing the car. I will admit that our MD trips never go past 11:00 even in great weather(would not want to miss cocktail hour). What can I say, I am from Va. Smoothbore out....

Hi All My TH'ing Friends
I do understand the 'need to dig in the dirt' as I go through with drawls any time I miss a weekend! LOL My two TH'ing buddies Mark and Wayne always put me in my place by telling me that the 'stuff' has been in the ground for one hundred and sixty some odd years so it will still be there in a month when it starts cooling off and we have had a bit of rain to loosen up the Virginia clay! I tend to agree but still push the envelope and dig till 3 PM and have to hit the ice box for a cold water or three. I enjoy digging with my two buddies but they end the day early due to the heat and I want to go till I have a goodie in my pocket at a minimum. I have to say that I do try to stay under the trees but sometimes those hay fields sure turn up some good finds. I just recovered my first US Rosette from Brandy Station , VA and it is one sweat find. It will be posted on the Whites web site in the September 2008 page. I am looking forward to finding my first Silver Dollar as I have yet to find one in my 32 years of TH'ing! No complaints as I have a lot of great finds.

Ripley Rebel get that camera fixed or get a new one as pictures sure make most of us drool!
:-)
Happy and Safe TH'ing one and all!
