After a morning of deer hunting, spent the afternoon in an old camp between Ripley and Brice's Crossroad. Found a 58 three ringer, 44 colts pistol and sharps. being close to Christmas I thought the sharps was very appopiate.

Thanks. When folks first started detecting around here, they thought it was a bad day if they found less than 100 bullets. I consider it a great day when I find three. Oh yea, I had a great day yesterday. I have harvested an eight point with 17 inch spread and a 5 point that was a five point last year. (and a bobcat). We have some hogs around here but I haven't had the problem that Kim has. Might not be a bad idea if they are as mean as he says. Merry Christmas.

Nice work with the deer. That eight pointer sounds big. And a bobcat ? Wow.

It must be fun working those camps. Never know which direction they go, where the borders were, where the trash pits were, etc. I bet you find things there for years to come. It also appears that both Union and Confederates used the same camps but at different times.
