I don't know if there's a more "proper" area to post this here at cwbullet.org, so I'm placing it where I think the most people will see it. Today on Hugh Hewitt's blog I saw a headline of "The Incredible Competence of the Military's Medical Professionals."
Hugh Hewitt wrote:
"USAToday's cover story is amazing.
The doctors/nurses/corpsmen/technicians and support staff that take care of the wounded don't get much press, but articles and pictures like these remind us of their valor and professional excellence."

As some people (but not everyone) here know, the founder of the Civil War Bullet forum, Chuck, is currently serving in our armed forces as a Doctor. In tribute to his valor and professional excellence, I'm posting Hugh Hewitt's words (above), and as a reminder, the link to the USAToday story:

Most sincere regards,

Sometimes we need to be reminded who else is "over there."

Theres always alot more going on than what the news shows us.

Thanks Chuck for your continued service. :up

Thanks Pete for reminding us :up

Pete,

Thanks bunches for that reminder and the link.

I got to see my oldest son last Monday for the 1st time in over a year. He's going to spend the weekend with us this weekend. He just returned from his second tour of duty in Iraq. He is a sergeant with the 3rd Armored Cavalry Division stationed at Ft Carson, Co. His MOS is Tracked Vehicle Repair, and he drives and operates a vehicle that recovers the downed tanks and humvees, etc..... gets them back to base for repairs, then returns them to where they are needed.

He has been involved in several firefightts with the insurgents there in the performing of his job...... and would you believe it, he re-enlisted when he returned to the states!

Thanks again for the reminder of who we have over there. It, of course, was very personal for me.

Have a vet with 2 Iraq tours working for me. Great worker and every so often I still thank him for his service, as we all should thank you all for your contributions to our security and safety, and thank your son for me soark. We have to personally do this because of the way vets were treated during another war that was not popular with the "doves" , they seem to be more vocal and militant than appreciative people.
