Banner exchange?

well, it depends on the type of traffic that you want. most of the persons that would come through would be folk associated with sites and clubs like mine. we are not scholars of this material, like some of you guys... but if they are like me they would use it as a chance to learn more about the stuff we find. i like the forum because it is easy to use and the people here are friendly. i guess it's what you want and how much you want of it. i think a banner and link exchange would be good for bringing in traffic. probably most of my members would visit regularly.

I was asking if you think it would be a good idea to form a banner exchange in which people can sign up and join. They get so many banner exposures for each banner shown on their site and so on. I have software to do this.

I'm not familiar with how this works. I just swap banners with folk, LOL. I don't think you should clutter your nice site up with a buch of banners everywhere, though. How does the exchange that you're talking about work?

It works like all other banner exchanges. You put a piece of code at a place in your site that you choose. It will put banners in that location automatically. I will make a banner page for our members. Join the members area and you can add it to the site. I will get a banner for you do the same after I get back form leave.

Well,

It is pretty simple. You have a banner made and submit it to the exchange. The exchange is group of websites that have agreed to exchange ads on areas the page owner determines. The page owner inserts a piece of code in his page that will display the banner. The banner is displayed that is partially random and partially base don te number of views each page provides for the other members. For example, if site A gets 100 hits and site B gets 200 hits, site B will get more banner exposed on others sites because they are providing more banner exposure for others. This is true, but if each site have equal popularity, then banners are random.

Members can check stats on their banners and how many times each banner provided hits to their site. You can also have multiple banners per site.

Neat process.

I will look at a design next month and see how it looks. If it has an early success, I will continue it as a service.
