Hey guys,

hope you are having a great Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Hunted all day yesterday except for dinner :) and hunted this morning.

Found the button without the back and the musket ball yesterday. My FIRST target dug today, I found the C.S.A. Plate! I ran about a tenth of a mile, up hill back inside to the house and woke everyone up. Man, I was out of breath but HAPPYYYYYYYY!!! Also found some more melted lead and an Eagle Button with a root grown inside the shank. very unique.

I told dad last night that when I find one of the buckles that I'd quit.

Did I quit? No way! I want moreeEEe!!!

Congrats on the plate! Man I want one bad!!!. A good friend of mine dug one today here in Murfreesboro Tennessee. Not the brass cast CSA but the ultra rare pewter cast CSA made in Rome Georgia worth about 10,000 - 12,000 dollars! I am going to post pictures of it and him holding in the next day or so. Ian, I hope you are relishing the feeling because as you know, those days don't come very often. Congrats!

Upon further research, that pewter plate is worth 7 grand to 9.5 grand. Not the 10 - 12 grand I originally said. I think the rare ones are great but I think I would rather have a brass one like yours, Ian. I would never sell it and I like the brass ones better.

This is what keeps me digging. Just hoping to find one like yours. Terrific find and it looks great no matter how much they say it's worth.
