I don't know and can't find anything on it, but I will mail it around and see what I find out - was there anything else found at this site? Do you know anything about the troops that used the site?

Well, the history at this site is very diverse and we have found lots of stuff here. Dave found the Sharps and Hankins here and I have found some minies and post war bullets. I found that Great Seal button that was posted in this forum and Dave found the 1882 IH cent. I pulled out what I think is a baby buckle (but am unsure - still trying to research it) about a month ago.

The Battle for Baton Rouge (when the Confederates tried to take back the capitol) started about where we are hunting and pushed into down-town. This main road (a couple of blocks over from the site) is Greenwell Springs Rd and was a major rd connecting Camp Moore and Baton Rouge. It was used by both armies to make raids on one another and was traveled heavy by both. I suspect that we are on the edge of a camp site.... but have not found enough items to determine what army would have been camped there. The RSR club will continue to hunt it and see what comes out. Dave and I have been talking about going to the State Archives and seeing what we can find out about the property. I just always have trouble finding info in there. It's not very user friendly.
