The next 3 messgaes are screenshots from ebay that show a bullet that i am suspect of being a fake. What do you think?. If it is your post, let us know why you think it is real. I have a feeling it is not.

I marked out certian portions just incase the fellow is legit, but i am suspect. I have been wrong, but not on a regular basis.

What kind of bullet is he claiming it is? A member of my club just dug one that looks like it at today's First Annual Red Stick Raiders Club Hunt. I suspect that the one dug by my member is post war... it had developed no patina. I really couldn't tell if the one at ebay is a fake or not. I think that it looks suspect, though.

No claim to any type of bullet. I just am suspicious that it is not Civil War. I could be wrong.

It's really hard to say. I have bullets that color which were found in water. His specimen seems to have not impressed a lot of folks, has it?

It sorta looks like a bad pour on the base or it has not been trimmed off. As far as color lead bullets found in water usually turn black depending on the length of submersion & type of water. Whether is is Civil War or post Civil War is hard. I will let the better eye balls handle that call.

I agree, I just want to be the devils advocate and see what you all though. I will post more in the future.
