Haven't been able to detect a lot but I noticed in one of the posts that someone had found bridle bit and was wanting to post my find. At an old homesite with a clover heel plate, a MS tax token(first for me) a large fork, a flint lock plate, and other goodies. The bit was found under a railroad spike that someone else had dug and reburied, just a couple of inches deeper. One US rosette is intact and the other is split. I looked but couldn't find it.Hope you enjoy.

Tim,

Nice finds! I love the bit..... and I like those heel plates. I found one a couple of weeks ago that had a heart cut-out.

Keep finding that stuff.... and posting the pics!

Kim,
Proud to hear from you. Also glad that site is up and running again. Going to corinth tomorrow to work and hope to find an untouched area to detect later on.

Tim,

If you find the untouched site...... leave it very lightly touched, then call me as to a convenient time to meet with you there!

Take care,

Kim

Hey Tim,

Those are indeed nice finds. That heel plate is very cool. Does the clover indicate the manufacturer or is it just a style feature ?

Great story about the bit and the spike.
