I dug this on Ft. neegly site 5- 58 cal. bullets within 4 ft.It's made of lead with a brass cover and a striker wheel in the center. What the heck is it? Thanks

Maybe it is the top to some sort of old oil lamp... the wick coming up out of the slot in the middle, many times the middle slot had a metal wick-guide that fed the wick up through the slot, etc.....??

but i don't think there is enough room for the wick to fit between slot and wheel but i think your on the right track thanks again john
