I would be honored to moderate Artillery Shells. I am only a one post Private. I joined the group to learn all I could about bullets. I have been involved in collecting and researching artillery for some time. If I can be of any help to this group I'd be glad to share anything I have learned.

Chuck, I not an authority on anything but try to research things I find. If I can't find it in the books I own then I contact people with more knowledge that I and ask questions. Hey guys it GREAT that you want to help out. Those of us who are 'military preservationists' need not be experts when it comes to identifying what we find. It is important that we care enough to recover, document and preserve the artifacts. Paid professional archeoligists are very limited in what they do because of monetary concerns. The VAST majority of books published about CW artifacts (particularly ammunitition) have been compiled by 'relic hunters'!
We all have something to contribute in our own way. Just do what you can because any little bit of knowledge helps us all!
