Hi, Im new to the forum. I came across this plate but I cannot seem to find any info or similar plates anywhere on the internet. it came out of a local estate and was very cheap. It looks undug but shows alot of mileage. Lots of small dings scratches etc. Although it is lacking deep patina I like the tone to the brass. It looks fairly crude. The thickness of the plate is not even, especially along the small edge nearest to the hook where there are many file marks. The sides have signs of file marks but alot of the file marks are well worn The plate is approx 43mm x 81mm. No markings. the csa is worn down which gives it the soft appearance. I would be thankful for any help!

Just in case three opinions are desired, and that the verdict be unanimous...
I agree with emike123 and Tn mxt's statements -- that buckle is absolutely a modern-made item, not an Original civil war period relic.
