Real or Fake CS Buckle?

Gentlemen,

I picked this buckle up at a farm auction about 45 years ago. I am now at the age when it's time to start divesting myself of some of my toys so I have 2 questions; Does this appear to be an authentic CS buckle, and what would be the best venue to sell it? Also if anyone would venture a guess at it's value I'd appreciate it.

I would say take it to a good relic dealer and let them look at it.

To me, it looks like a coarse sand cast repro given the surface, but I am not an expert. You can send a picture to Harry Ridgeway whose site is:

and he will probably give you a more learned opinion. There are others who could as well, of course.
