Relic identification

Found this while metal detecting it looks as if it might be the action handle from a rifle. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, that is the lever from a lever action rifle. I can't be sure what make/model of rifle.

Looks like the cocking lever to my BB gun. Broke my heart when the little hook on the end broke off. My dad rigged up a contraption out of 1/4 inch bronze or brass wire. Looked really bad but worked for a number of years until we moved and I trashed it. Brought back memories.
