Tompion ID

Hello Group,

I'm trying to ID a tompion that I've had for a while.

I don't have many weapon references so I thought

someone may be able to help. The one on the right in

the scan is the one in question. I believe it to be a

Springfield (.58) tompion. I remember seeing a few

at shows that had the brass ends similar to the British

that are also pictured. I'd like to find out if Springfield

produced them in the same style as the British (with the

brass ends). The one in the middle is a .577 Enfield and

the one on the left is a .45 Whitworth. Any help would be

appreciated.

if I'm correct....I think the wood tompion would be a a Springfield .58 cal.
