too cold to dig

HaHa :)
I hear you. I went out a few weekends back in the low 20s and broke my digger and about broke my arm on ice... Decided I should prob. head back home and thaw my bones out. ;)

Yes it is cold here in Northern Virginia

Hi All Mt TH'ing Friends
Well we did manage to get out for a bit of TH'ing on January 24th, it was a very cold day to say the least. Overall the finds were slim for three of the four of us. Mark did the best of us all, he got a perfect Union General Services Jacket button, three .58 Cal Three ringer bullets, one .36 Cal round ball, and a beautiful 1733 Spanish Reale. The Reale is now his second in this same general area so we are all waiting for the ground to thaw so we can jump in there will everything we have.

I also broke the weld on my digging shovel so will send it in under the warranty as it cracked on the weld not on the handle or the blade. A good weld should never break on the weld itself.

I did manage a brass rivet and small cuff sized flower button with an iron back. The finds were very slim to say the least, plus we had a few snow showers and did I mention that it was COLD out there?

51 days until Spring? Spring just can not get here soon enough for me!

All the best of luck to you all!

PS: Remember; Don't leave it in the ground!

This has been a truly bizarre winter for us here in East Tennessee. Colder than normal and when it finally gets decent enough to dig, it rains. Got out a week ago during some lite mist and found my first tear drop bullet and other misc. relics. Better day's are coming

got out last weekend and hunted for 6 hours. found two repeat two pulled 58's. Spent the rest of the evening picking out briars. Selma the yard is looking better every day. Ha.
