Fav. General

Well, this is a real hard one. There are many that I like but I would have to say either Nathan B. Forrest or Stonewall Jackson.

Confederate:
Joe Johnston
I like the AOT, and many in the AOT liked him!
Gen. Pat Cleburne
Gen. Hiram B. Granbury (His Texas boys kicked Howard's butt at Pickett's Mill!) :up

Union:
Gen. W.T. Sherman
He could tell it like it was! ( and my ancestors came from NW. GA!):bawl
Gen U.S. Grant

For the Southern cause, In my opinion, I really like James Longstreet! He was a well rounded military leader who the north dreaded to engage. For the Union, I would have to lean towards William T. Sherman. Just my thought's on the topic. scott

CS General Jo Shelby. Definetely underrated due to him being in the Western theter of the war.

Pat Cleburne and N.B. Forrest are tied for first place with me with regard to CS generals. Although I appreciate Sherman and Grant for their military capabilities, I cannot honestly say that I have a FAVORITE US general! Maybe I should agree with the Sturgis thing...
Best regards,
Gary
