What would you recommend as the best button book available?

Here is my situation... I find primarily civil war buttons, dragoon buttons and flat buttons. I do not find Rev.war buttons. I want a book that gives information about these buttons only or that contain these 3 kinds of buttons. I know there are many books out there but what have you guys found to be the most helpful in researching these buttons? I already have "Alphaeus H. Albert" book and PC George recommended McGuinn & Bazelon's backmark book. What about "Warren K. Tice" book, would that be a good book for the kind of buttons I'm finding? Some of these books can be very pricey so I'm looking for just one book at this time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hey KC, I'm in the same boat as you. I have both Alberts and Tices, and between the two books, they probably cover 98% of the buttons we will recover. I like them both the same but find myself using Tices more because that book lists more backmarks. Hope this helps!

PS, check EBAY, sometimes you run across the Tice book in used condition for half the price.

I'll also ditto the remarks about Tice's book, however there are times when one could use all 3 of them to get a precise "fix" on a button.

Take care,

Kim

Steve, since you already have Albert's you need to add McGuinn's book and if you lay out the money Tice's book but I think you can identify 99per cent of your buttons with the first two. I have 5 different button books and find myself using Albert and McGuinn most of the time.
